I was either driving across town to crash a party I technically wasn't invited to, or else I was having dinner in the hotel. A part of me wanted to. Free dinner and all. But then again, dinner in the hotel wasn't going to set me back one bit, and it was much easier, so I made my way there and requested the usual table for one.
Silence. Not a sound to be heard. Just me and the waiter, and even that didn't last long. I placed my order and off he went. "The place to meet" my arse! They need a new slogan!
Dinner was lovely, and towards the end one other person showed up in the restaurant; a British man. He sat down far, far away and ordered a burger. Cheapest option on the menu, and as it turned out he didn't like it. He was a knife and fork kind of guy, and the first attempt wasn't easy to tackle that way. He sent it back.
The second attempt was a burger on toast. He tried. I could tell.
The finer cut

Well yes, hamburgers don't work well with knife adn fork--I gave up on that a loooong time ago!
BTW, wanted to tell you that I am closing Hot Toast and Jam so thought you might enjoy its last post...all the way to the end of it too.
I will still be visiting just not as much (as if I have been that frequent anyway) as one might expect when hosting a personal blog, verses an art one.
Let me just say then, thank you for your support along the way and here's wishing you the best until we chat again. TY too for all your contributions to the XMAS teas. If the muse strikes, ...who knows?
:)
@ MMm - I'm sorry to hear Hot Toast and Jam has come to the last chapter, but I take it as a sign you got what you needed from having a place to set your thoughts free. I wish you all the best. Should you decide to still go ahead with the Christmas Tea, you can count me in for sure :)
